How to Do the Fancy Cafe Trend: With AI From One Photo, or Film It (2026)

The quickest way to do the fancy cafe trend is with AI: upload one photo of yourself to our fancy cafe video generator and a few minutes later you get the 15-second vertical skit, with you perched on the tiny table until a stylish stranger shows it's a table. $9.99 per video, pay once, no subscription, no sign-up. To film it for real, you need a friend, a low bench with a small side table, and a phone on a stand.

How to do the fancy cafe trend with AI (one photo)

1. Choose one photo of one person, face clear and in good light. Full body or knees up works best, because your outfit goes into the video (best photos).
2. Upload it on the Fancy Cafe AI home page from your phone or computer. On a computer you can also scan the QR code to send a photo from your phone.
3. Pay once, $9.99, as a guest: card, or Apple Pay / Google Pay where your browser offers it. No account, no subscription.
4. Wait a few minutes. The video appears on the page and is emailed to you; our test runs took about 3 minutes.
5. Download the MP4 (15 seconds, vertical 9:16, 720p, no watermark).
6. Post it on TikTok, Reels or Shorts and add the trend's sound in the app (which sound to use).

You play the person on the table; the stranger who walks in is made up by the AI. If a video fails, its credits come back automatically.

How to film the fancy cafe trend yourself

You need two people, a phone and a place with a low bench or ledge and a small round side table or stool next to it.

1. Set up the shot. Phone on a stand or propped up, vertical, at about chest height, facing the bench straight on and far enough back that both of you are visible head to toe. Don't move it.
2. Get into position. The newcomer sits on (or crouches above) the small table, knees up, holding a takeaway coffee, looking relaxed.
3. Roll and act. After about 5 seconds the friend walks in from the side, sits on the bench and puts their cup on a second small table or surface.
4. The realisation. The newcomer looks over at the cup, freezes, and holds the awkward pause for a few seconds. The friend ignores them.
5. The climb down. The newcomer gets off, sits on the bench, puts the cup down and looks into the camera, straight-faced.
6. Post it with the caption "POV: Your first time in a fancy cafe" and the trending sound.

Safety and manners: the little tables in real cafes are not built to hold a person and can bend or snap. In a real cafe, ask first, and fake the sit (crouch with your weight on the bench) rather than putting your full weight on a table. Your own bench and a sturdy stool at home are safer.

Tips that make it funnier

• Commit to the confidence. The bigger the "I come here all the time" act at the start, the better the realisation lands.
• Hold the pause. The joke is the slow realisation; don't rush the climb down.
• Dress up the stranger. A dark suit or a black dress and a small bag sell the "fancy" part.
• Keep one shot. No cuts, no zoom: the fixed camera is part of the format.
